What is non-medical home care?
Non-medical home care is professional support with daily living — bathing, dressing, meal preparation, companionship, medication reminders, and transportation. It does not include medical procedures. It is designed to help seniors stay safely and comfortably in their own home, on their own schedule, without moving to a facility.
How do I know if my parent needs home care?
Common signs include struggling with bathing or dressing independently, missing medications, increased isolation or loneliness, recent falls, weight loss from not cooking, and family caregivers feeling burned out. What is the difference between home care and home health?
Home health is medical care delivered at home — nurses, physical therapists, wound care. It is typically ordered by a doctor and covered by Medicare. Is Care Cura licensed in California?
Yes. Care Cura is a licensed Home Care Organization (HCO #394700067) registered with the California Department of Social Services. Every caregiver we place is a registered Home Care Aide (HCA), background checked through the California HCA Registry, and covered under our agency's insurance and bond.
How much does home care cost in California?
In California, non-medical home care typically costs between $25 and $40 per hour depending on the agency, location, and level of care. Care Cura charges a flat hourly rate with no hidden fees and no long-term contracts. We are transparent about pricing from the first call. Does Medicare or insurance cover home care?
Medicare does not cover non-medical home care. Some long-term care insurance policies do — check your policy's activities of daily living (ADL) benefit. Can I start care quickly if there is an urgent need?

What if we need to change or stop care?
There are no long-term contracts. You can increase, decrease, or stop care at any time. We ask for reasonable notice so we can adjust schedules fairly for caregivers, but we will never lock you into something that is not working.
